Widgets can be called a feature that any website WordPress must be used, it is a collection of functions; Each widget corresponds to a function for you to insert into the sidebar (sidebar) of the theme. For example, you can insert the Recent Posts widget to display the latest posts, the Text widget to insert HTML codes, etc. Although WordPress already provides some widgets by default, the widgets can may increase depending on theme support and plugin installation.
In the framework of this article, I will explain to you the role of the widget and how to manipulate the widget, although in the Customize section I have a video describing the Customize feature in which I have shown you us. widgets can be manipulated in the Customize area.
Working with Widgets
To manipulate the Widget, you can go to Appearance -> Customize or Appearance -> Widgets, but here i will access Appearance -> Widgets because it is more commonly used and not all themes support widget manipulation in the Customize area.
In it, the left hand side is a list of widgets that you can use and the right hand side is the sidebar. Depending on the theme, how many sidebars you will have, and many themes have sidebars dedicated to each section (Home, Single, Page, …) so you should take the time to read the fuzzy description above it and see the sidebar name.
To use the widget, simply click and drag the widget on the left hand side to the sidebar where you want to display the widget.
Or click on the widget on the left hand side and select the sidebar you want to use and press the Add Widget button, it will automatically add to the last position of the sidebar.
After adding the widget, each widget may have separate options for you to set it up to display as you want, you click and customize, then press Save to save.
Finally, go out of the theme and see if your widget is displayed.
